The aim of the study program International Business Management is to train graduates for a highly specialized career in the sphere of institutions, companies and multinational corporations in an international business environment. They can also find a job in the field of scientific work at universities, research teams or various social and public organizations. Study program is focused on investigating of the development trends in the international economic environment with emphasis on specific growth conditions of the EU, or the Slovak Republic and on developments in other territorial segments of the world economy. Since the Slovak economy is absolutely foreign-oriented, it creates a specific environment for scientific research and forms the importance of the economic relations and the consequences that arise in this area. The graduate is able:

  • to use various basic and applied research methods and to develop new knowledge in the selected topics,
  • to solve issues of economic practice in different contexts throughout sophisticated approaches,
  • to manage processes in the selected fieldconceptually, to work in team and to factually communicate their decisions in internationalt conditions. 

Graduate profile

A graduate of the study program Management of International Business is profiled as a highly qualified expert able to work in an academic or international corporate environment with a scientific qualification in the field of international trade and international business. A graduate has deep theoretical knowledge corresponding to international scientific criteria and has comprehensive knowledge of company management in the international environment in the age of globalization and digitization. A graduate knows current trends in international trade and business, in the field of economic integration and regional cooperation, in territorial studies, methods of engaging companies in the international environment, in e-commerce and ebusiness in the current context of the globalized environment of international business. A graduate has analytical skills, the ability to collect and evaluate data from international databases, uses methods of scientific work and relevant software, can process analytical materials at the scientific level, evaluate and use them for the development of knowledge in the field. A graduate can be employed in analytical and specialized workplaces in the field of international business and trade, economic and trade diplomacy, the EU bodies, multinational companies, international governmental and nongovernmental organizations, financial institutions, scientific research and academic institutions and state administration bodies with international agenda requiring a comprehensive solution to problems by engaging scientific research approaches.

A graduate of the study program Management of International Business will support social progress in the knowledge society, and its research will contribute to expanding the boundaries of scientific knowledge by publishing outcomes at the national and international level.
