This programme prepares students to assume leadership positions at the intersection of nuclear engineering, strategic management, and energy policy. It also responds to the global demand for professionals who understand both the technical and managerial dimensions of the nuclear energy sector.

Graduates will be equipped to navigate complex regulatory environments, drive innovation in energy systems, and contribute to sustainable solutions in national and international contexts. The curriculum combines theoretical knowledge with practical applications, ensuring readiness for real-world challenges in the energy industry.

Areas of study

  • generation, transmission and conversion of electricity, with emphasis on nuclear power facilities,
  • the effects of radiation on the human body, technological units and machinery of nuclear installations,
  • steady state and transient events during operation and shutdown of nuclear power plants,
  • financial management, including budgeting, financial analysis, investment and risk management, corporate controlling,
  • Management strategies and principles of organizing and leadership,
  • the business environment in the European Union, including legal and regulatory frameworks.

Study plan and schedule

 There are 3 types of courses in the programme:

  1. compulsory – you have to take them,
  2. Compulsory electives – you must take a specified number of them and get a specified number of credits from them,
  3. selection – you choose the ones you like. They can be within your programme or another programme. You can even take a course from another faculty or college.

The recommended study plan is designed so that by completing it you will meet the requirements for graduation within 2 years.

But you can adjust it to suit you – you just have to follow the rules set out study regulations.

Knowledge you acquire              

 You will be able to:

  • critically analyse available information necessary for the safe operation of nuclear power installations,
  • make effective use of software tools, measuring instruments and systems,
  • apply the principles and procedures of protection against the adverse effects of ionising radiation,
  • design and evaluate technological solutions and methods of electricity generation,
  • carry out financial analysis, budgeting and cash flow planning to ensure the economic stability of energy companies,
  • Manage nuclear energy projects, including planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of project results,
  • Manage teams effectively and present the results of analyses and strategies.

Joint Degree

This programme is a joint master’s degree delivered by the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (STU) and the Bratislava University of Economics and Business (EUBA).
