Our MCFM study programme is for those willing to learn to independently apply the acquired knowledge and skills to solve specific economic and managerial problems in a changing social environment. You can obtain various economic information and data from domestic and international databases, focuse on them analytically and statistically, interpret and synthesize results, propose solutions, communicate them clearly and persuasively according to the standards of academic language. This will make you the valuable source to the business environment.

Program structure          

The curriculum of the programme consists of compulsory, compulsory elective and optional courses. The compulsory courses, such as Strategic Management, Financial Analysis and Financial Planning, Purchasing and Supply Management 4.0, Innovation Management, Financial Markets will give you a solid basis for your future career. The compulsory elective courses will give you the opportunity to widen the specific knowledge related to corporate financial management in more details and the possibility of optional courses will enrich you in the areas you are interested in.

Admission requirements

The basic condition for admission to the master degree study program is a bachelor degree or a master degree in the field of economics and management, or in a related field of the study. If the applicant has completed a related field of the study, the applicant must take differential examinations to the extent specified by the dean of the relevant faculty (maximum 4 subjects) after admission to the study program. The dean of the faculty decides how the field of study is related.

An additional condition for the acceptance of the applicant is the obligation to pay a tuition fee (2 500 €) in accordance with the internal regulations of the University of Economics in Bratislava. A proof of the full payment must be presented by the applicant by the enrollment day for study (September 2025).

Only those applicants who, by February 28, 2025, submit a duly completed online application, deliver the attachments to the application (required documents listed below) and pay the application fee of 90 € will be included in the admission procedure. The admission fee can be paid only by bank transfer.

The admission procedure consists of a comprehensive assessment of documents, which the applicant must submit together with the study application. Based on the assessment of the submitted documents, the admission committee will draw up a qualitative ranking of applicants, while only those applicants who submit all the required materials by the set deadline will be included in the ranking for admission. Online interview is also part of the admission process. Personal participation in the admission procedure is not necessary. The number of accepted applicants will depend on the total number of applicants and their quality level, as well as on the faculty's capacity.

We reserve the right to not open the program in the case if the number of eligible candidates is not sufficient. In such case, the application fee (90 €) will be returned to the candidates due to a written requirement for a refurnd (signed, scanned and delivered by an-email).           

How to apply and required documents

Each applicant needs to fill out an online application form. It is necessary to add scans of required documents to an online application or send them to an e-mail: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. no later than February 28, 2025. The application form needs to be saved and submitted. After filling out an online application, you will receive a payment order with an information regarding payment of the application fee of 90 €, which you need to pay in order for your application to be completed.   • professional CV in English,
  • officially certified true copy bachelor’s diploma confirming completion of bachelor's studies in the given or related field of study – in English or Slovak,
  • officially certified true copy of the supplement to the diploma, or a statement of the results of the first degree of study (transcript of completed subjects and examinations) confirmed by the study department of the relevant faculty – in English or Slovak; Faculty of Business Economy of the University of Economics in Bratislava with seat in Košice may require additional submission of the syllabi of selected subjects,
  • officially certified true copy of the state examination certificate – in English or Slovak,
  • copy of an identity card or passport,
  • motivation letter in English,
  • proof of payment of the application fee 90 €. 

Please note that an applicant from abroad or an applicant who completed the 1st degree of university studies at a foreign university must also submit a decision on the recognition of a document of education for academic purposes, which will be issued by the University of Economics in Bratislava. The decision will be submitted by the enrollment day for the study (September 2025). Therefore, the applicant must apply for recognition to the University of Economics in Bratislava in advanced time. Knowledge you acquire

The graduate has professional knowledge and competences in the field of economics and management oriented towards the business, but especially in the areas of strategic management and planning, controlling, finance and financial management and others. He/she masters specific concepts from the field of financial management of the company, procedures, processes and relations between them. Based on the acquired knowledge and acquired conceptual apparatus, the graduate can identify, propose and apply creative solutions to problems and draw conclusions with regard to the object of investigation. He/she has developed communicative and analytical skills necessary for solving business problems. He/she understands new trends and procedures in financial management and can independently identify their risks and impacts on business practice.

The graduates are able to perform job positions not only in domestic but also in foreign companies operating in the Slovak Republic, multinational companies at home and abroad. The graduates are applicable as business economists and managers at all levels of management, for all types of businesses.
