The CEEPUS program is a multi-state exchange program, specially adapted to the needs of countries of Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe. Its goal is to provide new impulses for the international exchange of students and teachers and thus reduce asymmetric development in this region. Program enables development of cooperation between Slovak and foreign universities by creating academic networks, within which scientific and research cooperation takes place and the mobility of students, doctoral students and university teachers is realized. It is financed from the state budget on the basis of agreements of the ministries of education of the countries participating in the program.
Following countries are currently activitely participating in the program: Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czech republic, Croatia, Hungary, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia.
SAIA, n. o. is the National agency of the CEEPUS program in Slovakia. The agency regularly inform about current rules of implementation of the program (networks of cooperating universities, grant contributions, application deadlines...) on its website www.saia.sk.
The University of Economics in Bratislava is involved in three networks of the CEEPUS program: AMADEUS, REDENE and EDUCATION WITHOUT FRONTIERS (only the Faculty of Commerce and the Faculty of Applied Languages are involved in this particular network).
The selection process for those interested in a study and lecture mobility usually takes place in the spring months, always valid for the following academic year. The IMD will publish beforehand the list of foreign universities where mobility can be implemented, as well as a number of students and teachers that the EUBA can send for mobility. The basic selection is carried out by faculties.
Final selection is done the IMD. Report from the selection procedure will then be published on the university's website. All candidates are informed about the result of the selection procedure in writing (by an e-mail). Successful candidates are informed by the coordinator from IMD about the method of preparation of documentation necessary for the successful implementation of mobility. The documentation is binding. An alternate can apply for the so-called freemover mobility (outside approved networks). Out-of-network (freemover) mobilities are approved in case the national office of the CEEPUS program in the host country has free scholarship months.
