Until 2015, the Erasmus+ programme included only European Union member countries. However since June 2015, also other countries around the world were included in the programme. The University of Economics in Bratislava is actively involved in new project calls.

The group of non-EU countries includes organizations based in partner countries, which can participate in all key actions of the Erasmus+ program without restrictions (Key action KA107 - Mobility of individuals between program countries and partner countries). Key action KA107 offers the opportunity to undertake the mobility outside of Europe, in the countries involved in a specific project.

  • Each year, the University of Economics in Bratislava joins in the new call within the Erasmus+ project cooperation with partner countries, while each year is assigned with new countries by the National agency for lifelong learning (hereinafter referred to as SAAIC).
  • Full-time, as well as part-time students of bachelor, master or doctoral programmes, who successfully pass the selection process, can undertake a study mobility in a partner country.
  • The minimum duration of the study mobility is 3 months, maximum duration is 12 months. It is possible to take part on the Erasmus+ study mobility repeatedly. According to the rules of the Erasmus+ program, a student at each level of study (Bc., Ing., PhD) has 12 so-called Erasmus months. These months can be used for any combination of the study mobility, practical student traineeship or graduate traineeship.
  • Each student is nominated only for one semester, while nominated students also receive grant for one semester.
  • Student chooses the foreign institution according to the study focus at the home faculty. Each student of the 1st and 2nd cycle of study has to complete at least 5 courses or 30 ECTS credits, which is a condition for obtaining the allocated financial grant. Completing 5 subjects or 30 ECTS is exclusively linked to a financial grant, not to the recognition of subjects at the faculties. If student does not fulfill one of these two conditions, he/she is obliged to return the aliquot part of the grant.
  • The rates of individual grant contributions are set by the European Commission. The monthly rate for individual support is 700 EUR, regardless of the country in which the student completes the study mobility. Each student receives 80% of the overall grant amount before commencing the study mobility and remaining 20% after the return, when all requirements are met.
  • Each student who is travelling abroad needs to have own bank account, created on his/her name, to which the grant can be sent. No student may travel on a study mobility without a valid signed contract. We recommend to come signing the contract approximately 2-3 weeks before leaving for mobility.

The selection of students is done on the university-wide level usually two times a year, in March/October of the particular academic year, valid for the following academic year. Call for selection with all necessary information is announced at least 2 weeks before the selection process. In order to be included in the university-wide selection process, student needs to submit required documents electronically, as well as in person to the IMD. Documents required for the selection process:

  • Filled out Application form -  Student Application Form for the study mobility for the current academic year,

  • Motivation letter in English (CV and Motivation letter can be prepared in various languages),
  • Transcript of Records for all study period – issued by the study department of the particular faculty
